Hi! I’m Tina Buechler from Business Growth Training, I’m here today and I’m talking about tips and techniques for hiring a new employee. In this clip I’d like to talk about the part of the job interview where you promote your company. When you’re looking to hire somebody one of the key things you’re looking for is an opportunity or a relationship that’s mutually beneficial, you want the position that you offer to be good for the employee potential employee you want the skills and knowledge and what this employee brings to you to beneficial for you company. It’s very important that the relationship have be mutually beneficial, if not in the short term you’re going to become unhappy or in the alternative in a short term the employee would become unhappy and you’re in the same position you hiring again. So one of the things you really need to do is to promote your company, in the interview you’re trying to find out about the applicant but at the same time the applicants trying to find out about you, so you need to be essentially answering interview questions without being asked. Things you want to do is promote about the job, give information about the job, about the hours, about the expectations you have of employees that work for your company, talk about compensation plans, do you have benefit plans, what do you have in terms of you know do you promote from within, talk about your company, talk about the job, talk about the things that are great about your company so that this applicant gets an idea to what your company is like and this company and this position matches for the applicant. The applicant even in this market where we have really low unemployment and where I live right now we having the lowest low unemployment we’ve had in 50 years, what we’re finding is an employee market and if you want that employee to choose you then you need to market you, you need to promote your company so the employee can choose you. You’re making a decision to hire this employee or not but the employee’s also making a decision to hire you or to come on with you and so a very important part of the interview process is the part where you promote your company to the applicants so that the best applicant when you decide on the best applicant that applicant has decided on you as well.
