"Hi my name is Mark Delgado with American Auto Service for Expert Village. The reason I chose this 97 Nissan Pickup was because the compressor is visible and some of the other components are just as visible. To understand the basic airconditioning system we start at the airconditioner compressor which on this vehicle is located underneath the distributor. That compresses the refrigerant gas that comes up through here, through this high pressure line into the condensor. When it's in the condensor it cools the high pressure gas and it condenses into a high pressure liquid. It exits the condensor to this receiver dryer here which filters and removes debrie and moisture. From there the line will run in through and before it enters the evaporator coral there is an expansion valve which is a restriction which creates a low pressure liquid."
