"This is Robert Wilkins from the Car Alarm Shop and in this segment we are doing basic safety procedures when working on a vehicle for Expert Village. Of course, when working on a vehicle the key must always be in your presence so that no one inadvertently will start the vehicle. Around here you have moving components; belts, bands. You don't want to get your hands caught up in here. Of course, you got to wait until the car cools down when doing any engine work such as working around electrical components that is near heater hoses and the radiator, exhaust manifold, engine cover. Now what we have here is the heart of the vehicle, the automotive battery. You have a postiive lead and a negative lead. You never want these to touch which is what is called a short."
