How to Install a CPU into a Motherboard

First, we need to ground ourselves to discharge any static electricity. I prefer to keep the motherboard on the antistatic bag to keep it from getting dirty or picking up some electrostatic charge, which can fry the entire works. Socket motherboards have what is called a ZIF, a zero insertion for socket. This is to avoid pin damage on a processor. So if doesn’t fit right in, don’t try to force it, try turning it. Some motherboards don’t have this metal plate on top, but keeps the processor or CPU seated properly on the motherboard and helps avoid damage. On this particular processor there has not just on either side to help you figure out, which way that fits into the motherboard. It also has a plastic protection device over it. Make sure you don’t touch the pins underneath, because that is the most important part of all of your computer building. So, we put the processor into the motherboard and then we close down the metal on top and we latch it securely. "
