"Hi, this is Linda Lewis on behalf of Expert Village.com. Check out my website at www.keytime.com. What is a one-handed keyboard and how fast can someone type on it. People who use or choose to type with one hand have a much better keyboard lay out than the standard Qwerty lay out that was designed to slow the typists down. The numbers 5 through 0 are placed down the side of the keyboard allowing all four rows to become letters and this enables someone to place their hand on the most frequently used keys which are right in the center and then they place their hand and they type up and down like they are on a ten key number pad. If you notice, that the least frequently used keys are the q, x, and z and the b, k, and g; those are on the outside. It makes it much easier for someone to type on a single handed lay out rather than using the Qwerty Keyboard. If this were a Qwerty Keyboard, the hand would be traveling back and forth like a ping pong ball which allows for a lot of errors and their typing up and down like they are on a 10 key number pad instead. So a person typing with one hand can easily achieve 30 words per minute. Those who are very fast can type up to 50 words per minute. That would be about like 200 typists typing about 80 words a minute. "
