"Hi, this is Linda Lewis on behalf of Expert Village.com. Check out my website at www.keytime.com. What is mental practice time? It is very important to be able to practice something away from when you are actually doing it and with keyboarding; you can practice at any place at any time. What you are actually doing is air typing and so when you have learned the keyboard, then you start practicing the finger motions. This is where you are increasing your ability to do your mental practice with your muscle memory. As a classic study where they took basketball players to find out which would be the most improved after a week of practicing free show shots. The first group just shot the free throw without any other concern of just practicing when they were doing it with the actual basket. With the second group, they had two things that they did. These were the experimental groups. The first time they would practice with the basket and the second time they would mentally shoot baskets so they would just visualize a basket and include that in their practice. The second experimental group would just visualize and so at the end of the week, they would see who was the fastest or the most improved of the three and the ones that mentally practiced were the ones that improved the most. They were the ones that visualized and they shot the baskets they were never missing a basket so that muscle memory they had was always right on. You should try it some time."
