"Hi there! I'm Fran Friedman from Morning Star Animal Sanctuary and I am here to talk to you about travel cage for ferrets for long distance traveling on behalf of expertvillage.com. First of all, many people with ferrets have carriers like this for travel and they are quite good for short distances to the vet , just going to a friends house or relative and that is good for traveling short distances. If you are going long distance, we use something like this. It is actually a rabbit cage but it has very tight wiring on the bottom so that there feet can't go through. The first you are going to do to make it more comfortable for the ferrets is you are going to stuff it with blankets, towels and a hammock. So I'll do that and I will show you how we would set this up if we were going out with our ferrets. It is very important to keep their feet off of metal so that we stuff it with lots of blankets and we keep it all to one side so far and you will see why and then a little hammock because ferrets love their hammocks, they love feeling really secure so you would probably tie up this hammock and they would probably spend most of the traveling time in it. They just love cuddling up even if you have 2 or 3. That is basically a start for a ferret set up for long distance travel. "
