How to Submit Resumes Online

As we get more and more computer and technology advanced, one of the things that has happen is the whole job search process has become very technology based and advanced. Employers are using computers to do a lot of the searching and initial screening of applicants. This means that your resume, if you’re going to be emailing your resume; if you’re going to be sending it off electronically in any way, that you need to add an additional section to your resume. That additional section is called key word summary. The key word summary is just exactly that, a list of key words summarized, all of them separated by a comma. For example, if an employer was looking for somebody with an MBA, and you wrote masters of business administration. The computer will not identify you because the computer was looking for MBA and you wrote masters in business administration. The computer won’t identify those two things. So, on your resume, in your key word summary, you need words that mean the same as other things that you’ve identified. So, if in your education section have masters of business administration, in your key word summary you would have MBA. You need to come up with a list of key words that you have seen in other postings, and if you don’t have them in you resume you need to stick them in your summary. What will happen is when the computer does the initial search, it will find those key words and count your resume in as one to be looked at further. If you’re going to be using any kind of computers in doing any kind of electronic job search, make sure you incorporate an additional section of your resume called the key word summary."
