How to List Education on a Resume

In this clip about resumes, I would like to talk about the education, listing your education on your resume. Every resume needs to have an education component. In there, you need to indicate if you have finished high school. If you have not finished high school, you need to indicate that you attended high school, but do not indicate that you have your diploma or you have completed that course of action. If you’ve done any college or university, you should include that, even if you’ve not a course. Let’s say you’ve taken 2 years of a 4 year program, you might want to include that information as well. All of that indicates that life long learning aspect, which is the key component of finding a job. Education does not have to be listed just specifically as education. You need an education section, but it might do better marketing to have education training, education and training, or maybe education and professional development as a subject matter. Then, you can include and professional development that you have completed as part of your work. If you’ve taken some leadership development courses, maybe you’ve taken some ISO management courses, you can include that in the education component. You can choose how to title it you just need the word education, so education and training, education and professional development. Include in there, again, any relevant and important skills and education that you’ve taken that will market you to your goal. If you’re looking for manufacturing, perhaps this where flower design does not fit in, so you need to specifically choose courses that are going to market you toward your goal. Take some time to think back to the different informal training that you’ve taken through you’re work that will help you market yourself to your next position. This can be included in the education training and professional development section. More than just formal education, look at informal, look at company based training, look at any online training that you’ve taken. All of that can be part and component of the education section of your resume."
