How to Maneuver Handcuffs to the Front of You

Video Preview

Introduction

The case of Carol Ann Gotbaum motivated me to write this. As you may remember, all the way back in October, everybody was speculating about what really happened to Carol Ann Gotbaum. There existed a conspiracy theory, where she was killed by Airport Security. The "proof" was that she died with her hands in front of her, when she was handcuffed with her hands behind her back. "How could her hands possibly have ended up there?" This article will explain some ways a person can maneuver their hands from behind their back to the front of them. This article will come in handy for people who are kidnapped or arrested.

Tips & Warnings:

  • If you have trouble getting your hands over your butt try bending over as far as you can, this will make it easier.
  • If you try this while being detained or arrested by the police, resisting arrest may be added in addition to your prior charge.
Step1
Your hands are handcuffed. The proper that method most law enforcement use, is with your hands behind your back and palms facing out. The handcuffs may use a "chain" or "hinge" to hold the loops together.
Step2
If your palms are facing out, turn your palms to face each other, this will make the steps following easier.
Step3
While standing, bend over as far as your flexibility will allow.
Step4
While bent over, push your hands down over your butt. Depending on the length of your arms this may be difficult or incredibly easy. If you find yourself having a hard time stretch your arms out and try to make a space large enough to squeeze your butt through.
Step5
While still bent over, your hands should now be under your butt and under your legs. Try to get the handcuffs as low to the ground as you can (to your ankles if possible). If you have good enough balance, step backwards with one foot over the handcuff chain or hindge. If you don't have good balance sit down, pull one knee up to your chest and push the handcuff chain up over your foot. Do the same to the other foot.
Step6
The handcuffs should now be in front of you.
