Step 1
Part Seven of the Canine Good Citizen test requires your dog to do the recall command. Your dog has to come to you when you call from about 20 feet away.

Step 2
Start by teaching your dog to come when called. The easiest way to start is to have a friend hold your dog's leash.

As your friend is holding the leash, you get your dog excited.

Step 4
When your dog is real excited, run about 20 feet from your dog. When you're 20 feet away, turn and face your dog.

At this point your dog should be pulling on the leash. Call your dog's name and then the command "COME."

Your friend can then let go of the leash. Your dog should race towards you.

When your dog gets to you, praise her and give her a treat (check Resources below for my video on how this is done).
