Tips & Warnings:
- The longer you let your jewelry sit in ammonia the better, but DO NOT allow jewelry to sit for more than 5 days.
- DO NOT use ammonia on any jewelry that is not gold, gold plated, diamond, or cubic zerconia.
- DO NOT scrub jewelry with toothbrush. This will loosen diamond settings.
Step1
Place 4 to 6 pieces of gold and/or diamond jewelry in small container. Fill container with ammonia until jewelry is fully submerged.
Step2
Shake container gently for several minutes.
Shake container gently for several minutes. For best result allow jewelry to sit in ammonia overnight.

Step3
Remove single pieces at a time and brush gently with a toothbrush under warm running water.
Step4
After rinsing, place jewelry on clean white cotton cloth.
Step5
Buff each piece gently to shine.
Step6
To keep your jewelry brilliant, place them in ammonia after every wear and then store.

on 6/21/2008 Cleaned my rings last night using this method. They are so sparkly and new looking! I did take JasneJ's advice and rinsed them in the bowl and then put them in a plastic strainer [tiny holes] before drying. Worked great!!

on 3/26/2008 I would never clean jewelry over a sink with running water. If the stone was loose, it would wash down the drain!
