Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Tips & Warnings:
- Put the mixture on your dog dry.
- If it is warm, wash your dog outside. If your dog hates getting a bath, put her on a leash and secure it to something sturdy. This will help keep your dog in place while bathing.
- Repeat the process until the skunk smell goes away.
- Try to dry your dog as much as possible after the bath.
- Don't store this mixture. Anything left over should be dumped.
- Careful around your dog's eyes.
How to De-Skunk Your Dog
Step1
As soon as your dog is sprayed, mix the above ingredients into a large bowl. Mix about a quart of the peroxide and a half box of baking soda. Put in about an 1/8 cup of the dish soap.
Step2
Don't wet your dog down. Put the mixture on your dog while your dog is still dry.
Step3
Let it stay on your dog for about 10 minutes.
Step4
Rinse your dog. Reapply the mixture if your dog has really been nailed by the skunk.
Step5
If after 24 hours your dog still has a skunk smell, give him another bath using the mixture.
