How to give Yourself a Facial Massage to reduce wrinkles

Video Preview

Introduction

Giving yourself a face massage can relieve headaches, anxiety and banish fatigue. Face massage can also benefit your appearance by improving your complexion and leaving your face looking fresher and reducing wrinkles. You can fit a massage in at any time: a stimulating one first thing in the morning, or a soothing one in the evening. Try to vary the movements: brisk and fast for an energizing effect, or slow and smooth if you want a calming effect. Repeat each movement as often as you like.

Difficulty: Easy

Tips & Warnings:

  • If you have oily skin wash your face after the massage
  • Use caution around the eyes
  • Use fragrance free lotion
  • If sensitive this can be done lotion free, just be very gentle and slow.
  • Warning: Look carefully at your skin before beginning any massage. In areas where the skin is red, or broken out be extra careful with massaging these areas, do not use harsh pressure, and keep in an outward motion.

Step1
Start with a warm wet washcloth-place it over your face and gently tap and press it to your skin while inhaling the steamy warmth.

Remember to take nice deep breaths! Oxygen helps the muscles relax!
Step2
Apply a small amount of facial moisterizer lotion to the tips of your fingers and rub your fingers together. This will warm the lotion.
Step3
Place your fingers on your forhead and gently glide them down from the forehead to your chin line. Repeat 2-3x. Increasing pressure with each glide.
Step4
Glide from the forehead and stop at your temples and begin to make small circular motions with your fingertips. You can use the tips of your fingers or the pads of your fingers. Vary the pressure and the speed of the circles that you are making and also the pressure.

If it causes discomfort, lighten up the pressure.
Step5
Gently apply pressure to your jawline and chin by squeezing and pressing in with your fingertips. Smooth it out with a glide and end w/circular massage at your temples again.

Don't forget to breathe!
Step6
Small circular motions to brow line, cheekbones, and finish with gliding from forehead to temple ending with circular fingertip massage.
Step7
Massage your scalp as if you were washing your hair. Gently squeeze each side of the back of your neck with the opposite hand.
Step8
Rub your palms together, and gently place over your eyes, taking 3 deep slow breaths. Have a glass of water or your favorite wine and relax!
