Tips & Warnings:

  • This how-to is not to pose the idea that there are no other ways to import your project from Windows Movie Maker into Adobe Photo Elements; it is just one method that I know on completing this task.

Step1
open neccessary applications, Windows Movie Maker. Create and save Photslideshow and save as a .wmv file format movie.
Step2
Open Adobe Photo Elements and choose to create, then click on slideshow, a box will pop up for you to choose your settings for the slideshow, select your desired choices and click ok. Next, at the top of the current browser, choose add media, a drop down box appears; choose add photo or video from a folder. Your file browser box appears. Locate where you saved your Windows Movie Maker file/project and click ok. The file begins to import. Once this has completed, a preview of the file/project will appear in your projects browser and in the timeline at the bottom as one time frame.
Step3
When your are finished with your project there, click on the save icon at the top of the browser window, and save your file to a desired location. You will now see the organizer window and a preview of the project you just completed. Right click on the project and in the drop down menu select output as a wmv. Another small box will open, you can choose to change the file quality and video size in here from the drop down arrow, then click ok. (You can also choose output at the top of the browser and select the way you want to save the file, change the file settings if you desire and click ok)a window will pop up for you to name your project ad choose the location to save it, complete that step and click ok.
Step4
Your WMV project is now in the saving process and once complete; it is ready to view and share.
