In the beginning of the video I'm talking with my coach about swinging the shaft of my driver 'on plane' versus 'dumping' it underneath. As your practice swing, stop at the top of your backswing and 'cast' the driver head out away from your body. Do that a couple of times so that your body gets muscle memory.
Step2
shaft is pointing directly at ball - 'on plane' versus shaft pointing above the ball or 'dumped'
Most pros typically swing their driver shaft just underneath the plane and square up at impact to hit a relatively straight ball. For the power fade, work to 'cast' the shaft outside your hands and swing through as though your right shoulder 'comes over the top' or leads the downswing.
Step3
shoulders are 'on plane' (pointing at impact point) and shaft exits just under left shoulder - the lower the better
Swing left, swing left. The harder your body rotates to the left, the bigger the resulting fade. It seems counterintuitive to swing left of your intended target, but this will impart an outside-in swing path to impact and result in a cut spin on the ball.
Step4
right elbow straight, forearm high
Finish high. Notice right arm extension through the ball. This helps keep the wrists from rotating over and imparting a draw spin on the ball.
Step5
belt buckle left - hips fully uncoiled
Finish left. Belt buckle should be just left of intended target. Notice ball just above red flag. See trajectory and shot shape moving hard from left to right.
