Video Preview

Introduction

This How-To will help shorten the time it takes to tie helium (and air) filled balloons directly to ribbons. Stop tying the balloon first and then tying the ribbon to the balloon! This method is also friendlier to the environment because it eliminates plastic clips and other ties.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Tips & Warnings:

  • Helium is never to be inhaled! It is dangerous to do so.
Step1
Balloon in right hand - ribbon in left. If you are right handed, hold the balloon in your right hand. Hold the pre-cut ribbon in your left. {Reverse for left handed.}
Step2
Hold balloon high on its neck, holding in the helium. Grasp the balloon high up on the neck, where the neck meets the inflated balloon. Then you have room to work with the balloon' s neck while you are holding in the helium.
Step3
Approximately 9 Measure about nine (9") inches from the end of the ribbon. This will be the tail for your balloon.
Step4
Pull the neck of the balloon. Pull the balloon neck out where you marked the tail of the ribbon will start, with the ribbon lying on top of the balloon neck.
Step5
Pull the neck around your fingers. As you pull the neck up, bring it around your fingers.
Step6
Push through the hole between your fingers. Then pull the end around the balloon and through the hole between your fingers.
Step7
Remove your fingers by rolling the balloon away. Remove your fingers, by rolling the balloon away from you, and release.
Step8
Curl the end of the ribbon with your nail. Finally, curl the end tail of the ribbon to make it pretty!
Step9
Finished balloon and ribbon And, you are done!
