Step 1
Make a list of the dog daycare businesses in your area. Call each of them and ask prices and hours of operation. Also ask if you can drop in to ask a few more questions and observe the dogs playing.
-
Step 2
When you go to visit the dog daycare you should be able to watch the dogs playing. If they do not allow you to see where the dogs play, take that as a warning signal.
-
Step 3
Ask the owner how long they have been in operation. What their experience with dogs is and what drop off and pick up procedures are. Have any dogs ever escaped? Any been injured? What precautions do they take?
-
Step 4
As you are walking around, pay attention to how the place looks and smells. One of the most important parts of operating a dog daycare is to make sure that it is extremely clean.
-
Step 5
If you feel comfortable with the dog daycare and the owners, make a reservation for your dog.
