4. Use 20-minute spackle to fill the hole. For maximum effectiveness, we suggest you repeat this step three times as shown in the video. Apply the spackle, wait 20 minutes until dry, and then repeat.
Step5
5. Use a sanding block before painting.
Step6
6. Paint the area, making sure to feather out the paint for a uniform look.

krndpx,
Good question.
It's okay if you lose a nail or a screw. During installation, every joist and stud is glued first with construction adhesive then the drywall is applied to the joist or studs with screws and nails. There will be nails around the perimeter and screws going through the center. So if you lose a nail or a screw, the glue and other nails or screws in that area should hold it fine. Also if you do pull a nail or a screw during a repair and the drywall is flexing, then put a nail or screw 1 inch up from where you pulled the exposed one.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Very nicely done! Maybe this is a dumb question, but is the drywall going to be okay with out the nails in it? Don't they need to be there?

WOW!!! I just love it. This was the best E-how I have seen. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in such a professional yet easy format. I am a female who likes to fix up my home with as little help as possible from outsiders (contractors). I can't afford to hire someone for every little repair. So thanks alot. I will be requesting alot more stuff from you! :}
