First you are going to need 8 wide mouth glasses, and food coloring (use the assorted packs, like pictured, 0.25 ounce bottles for each color).
Step2
Boil your eggs, and let them cool down.
For the perfect hard boiled egg, see: http://www.ehow.com/how_2047398_boil-perfect-hard-boiled-egg.html
Step3
Put an egg in one of the empty glasses. Fill glass with just enough water to cover the egg, then remove the egg, leaving the water.
Step4
Using the first glass for comparison; measure out the same amount of water for the rest of the glasses.
Step5
Add about 1/4 of a bottle of color to each glass.
Step6
Using the back edge (non serrated) of a butter knife, very gently tap the egg, creating small cracks. Do this all over the egg.
Step7
Gently place one egg into each of the filled glasses.
Step8
Let the eggs sit in the dye for AT LEAST one hour.
Step9
Using a metal spoon, lift one egg out of the water/dye at a time, and place gently back in the pot (this keeps the sink from getting stained).
Step10
Carefully empty each glass by pouring the water/dye directly down the drain, to avoid staining the sink
Step11
Rinse each egg with cool water and put them in a clean, dry bowl.
Step12
Carefully peel the eggs.
Step13
Spread the eggs out on a tray in a decorative fashion or any other way you would like to display them and enjoy! Be sure to cover and refrigerate if not eating them right away
