How to do the Basic Hustle Step

For the guys: Take your dance partner by both hands. You start with your left foot as you rock back, then right foot in place, left foot swings around counter clockwise, right foot closes to left (you swing partner clockwise as you do this)

For the ladies: Start with your right foot, rock backwards, left foot in place, right foot turns clockwise pointed between man's feet, left foot closes on fourth step

You can do this dance in either four counts or three counts. If done in three (you'll move a lot faster), you syncopate the rock step by counting it as "and one"
