Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Tips & Warnings:
- Be careful not to sit on each other's heads while rolling.
- Make sure there are no obstacles in your way on the hill below.
- This sport may be dangerous, and is probably not recommended by osteopaths or chiropractors. Attempt at your own risk.
Step1
Nominate a leader and a follower. The leader should be the stronger of the two.
Step2
The leader stands upright with feet slightly apart, facing uphill.
Making sure the top of their head is pointing downhill, the follower lies with their back flat on the ground and puts their head between the leader's legs.
Step3
Leader and follower grab hold of each other's ankles. A secure grip is crucial.
To get the right position for this step, the leader must bend forward at the waist, knees slightly crooked, while the follower brings their knees in towards their chest.
Step4
The leader starts rolling by rapidly assuming a sitting position downhill of the follower's head. The leader rolls onto their back, pulling the follower along behind. The follower then copies this movement, and the roll is under way!
Step5
From here, given a steep enough gradient, momentum should keep both parties moving down the hill for as long as they are able to hang on to each other.
