Step1

Before you give the command stand, make sure you have your dog's attention. Always get your dog's attention before you give a command. Once your dog is looking at you hold a treat close to your dog's nose.

Step2

As your dog focuses on the treat, move the treat forward and have your dog follow it. As your dog follows the treat give the command stand.

Step3

Once your dog is in the stand position release the treat and praise your dog.
