Tips & Warnings:

  • It gets its name from the ball dropping down from the high point of the arch like a falling teardrop.
Step1
In this drill, a player usually starts with the lay-up procedure from a distance further away from the basket.
Step2
The ball is generally released earlier and in a higher arch then the normal lay-up. The ball is usually away before the taller defender has the chance to block it.
