Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

To do this technique, you must follow a few steps to achieve the Pop ShovIt. First you must start off with your feet placed correctly on your board. Then, cruise at a comfortable speed; it’s about the same as doing an Ollie except you rotate your body inward.

  2. Step 2

As you Ollie up, kick your back foot behind you and your board will rotate in ward. Make sure that your shoulders and body alignment is straight, do not turn. As the board rises up, jump up with the board; the harder you pop, the higher your board will. Then land square on your board and ride away with a jolly ole smile!

  3. Step 3

Just a note, there are many ways you can “Pop ShovIt” – you can do it frontside or backside – only difference is, is when you jump up, you either have the option to kick your foot behind you or in front of you that way the board with rotate inward or outward. Another way of doing “Pop ShovIt” is by the degree of turning – 180* or 360.*

  4. Step 4

To do a 360* Pop ShovIt, you must push at a medium speed or what you know is best for you. Then place your feet over the bolts. As you attempt, twist your backside as you kick your around [if you are not comfortable yet, keep doing it 180* until you get the hang of it], then watch your board spin and stay above it.

  5. Step 5

Don't be scared, it will come around. Remember the faster the better and finally roll away, but make sure you throw some style into it!
