How to Stuff a Piñata for New Year's Eve

Video Preview

Summary: Cinco De Mayo and kids' birthday parties shouldn’t be the only events where you get to wear a blindfold, flail a large stick around and get a prize! Consider the Times Square “drop the ball” event as your muse and feature a disco ball-shaped piñata for guests to get into about an hour before midnight.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a piñata. You can buy one at a party supply store or you can order a custom-sized one online.

  2. Step 2

Collect all the noise-making items you can find to stuff into the piñata. Include iconic New Year's Eve paraphernalia like party horns and noisemakers; then throw in a few additions like kazoos, harmonicas and maracas.

  3. Step 3

Toss in any other swag that makes you smile: candy, bubbles, poppers, bags of confetti, yo yos and other small toys.

  4. Step 4

Seal the piñata and hang it with fishing line from a secure location.

  5. Step 5

For a little extra credit, have an hourglass on hand. Flip the hourglass an hour and a half before midnight, when it's time to break the piñata. Find cool hour glasses online.

on 12/31/2007 Hmm, the first link is dead, the second one doesn't have disco ball pinatas, and the third one doesn't have pinatas at all. Any other sources?
