I'm Mark Valenti and this is teacher tips for integrating technology. Put technology tools in the hands of the students and ask them what would you do with this. They might come up with ideas you've never thought of. Focus on what you want technology to do in your classroom. A tool without a task has no context. Use the four Cs to guide your ideas. Create, give the students an assignment where they need to shoot a video that tells a story. Consume, give them an opportunity to combine digital photographs and music in ways that they hadn't considered. Collaborate, make sure they work together in teams so that the project has meaning beyond the individual. And communicate, ask them to find ways to go beyond the four walls of the classroom, perhaps using SKYPE to talk to an expert in a subject that they're interested in. Students need to create, to share, to publish and communicate. So think about activities that will give them that opportunity and you won't go wrong.
