Hello, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement, and this is how to remove vinyl asbestos tile and tack strips for your floor. Now one thing is you cannot remove asbestos tile, siding or roofing unless you are certified through the government. So you can't touch it, all you can do is call in a professional who is certified by the government and they can remove that for you. But I will show you how to remove the tack strips from your floor. For this job you will need a flat bar and a hammer. With a tack strip you are nailed into the floor about every eight inches. So we are going to take our flat bar, go the first nail, get it underneath of the tack strip then knock it underneath that nail. After you are underneath that nail, go ahead and pry down on your flat bar. Then we'll just work our way down through the tack strip using our flat bar. Go to the next nail, shove it under there, pop it up and we'll do this all the way down through the strip. Removing your own tack strips will help the carpet installers come in and lay their carpet a lot faster and it will also save you some money. Thank you all for watching and good luck with this project.
