Hey, this is Charles Henson with Nashville Computer. In this video, I'm going to show you how to share files on SkyDrive. The reason you may want to do this is you want to share files with someone that is in a different office or maybe they are a friend or maybe you are working with someone on a spreadsheet and you want to share this information with them and allow them to edit the files or just to view them. So the first thing you want to do is open up Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer browser of your choice and we'll go to Skydrive.com. Once we get to the website, you want to log in with your username and password for SkyDrive, click on the sign in button. Under here you will see all of your files that you have under SkyDrive and from here you will choose shared folders. Here you can already see which shared folders that you may have shared in the past or if you have not shared any yet. From here you'll want to choose file again and then we're going to share the eHow videos folder. Once we click this, we're going to click on share and we can either invite people or get a link. Here we're going to choose whether we want to view, edit or have public the folder visible to the public general population out there. So here we're going to just say view only and we're going to click on create link. We can share this on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or we can even get a shortened URL and we're going to copy this URL and then we can paste it into an email and send it to the other person that needs to see these files. The other thing we can do is select anyone with this view link and then click remove link. This will disable access for them sharing this file and being able to see it. Once we do this we can also invite people by just clicking on the invite people button, we'll type in the email address of the person we wish to invite. Under quick note you can just type in here is the video share or whatever it is related to that and then you can share the video. Once we do this you will see that you have options for the viewer to only view the file, allow them to edit, or you can even stop the sharing. So we're going to set this to stop sharing and then we're going to close this out. The other thing that we can do is we can actually go back in under files and we can share an individual file if we should chose to do just the file instead of an entire folder. Once you click this share button you will see all the same links that we just talked about. So you could put in the address and everything here or you can just copy a link and then we'll log out of SkyDrive. Again this is really good for sharing forms, sharing documents, sharing Excel spreadsheets, if you need them to edit those files and you can set permissions here and you can even create documents that you want the general public to use. This is the way to do it.
