Hey this is Charles Henson with Nashville Computer. In this video I'm going to show you how to connect your laptop to a larger computer screen. The reason you may want to do this is maybe you want to do a presentation or you want to use a second monitor or even maybe this monitor is getting older on your laptop and you want to just use a more newer fresh monitor. So the first thing you want to do is obtain a VGA cable and we'll want to find the VGA connector in the back of the laptop. We'll connect this cable in. Once the cable is connected to the back of the laptop we'll want to press the function F4 key. Function F4 on this device is the one that we'll want to use to have the monitor transparent or to be moved over to this screen. Some laptops it may be F5 or F6 but you can look along the top and you'll see the little marker button. Generally it's in blue and you'll want to press the function key and that key to toggle between screens. You can have it on low screens or you can toggle between having it use just this screen or both. So again the reason you may want to do this is maybe your screen is getting older, it's getting faded or maybe you want to set up a second monitor or maybe you're having a meeting with someone and you want to share information that's on the screen and they will be able to see everything that's on your screen.
