I'm Gene West and this is how to choose curtains for small windows. Small windows can sometimes be a challenge to dress. Unless you're looking to make a small window look large, consider using a valance or a window top treatment. I like to use sheer or lace fabric valances for these small windows, since it softens the windows and lets lots of soft light into the space. If you want lots of light to enter the space use 1 1/2 times the window width of fabric. However if you want less light and more privacy, use 3 times the window width of fabric. This will make the windows look full, textured, and more formal. Either way, have fun with your windows. Sheer and lace valances are inexpensive, and affordable enough to change from season to season, or as your mood allows.
