I'm Gene West and this is picking ideal curtain width. When installing your curtains, you never want to skimp on the width of fabric. Follow these guidelines and you're sure to get it right the first time. Picking the width for your windows is easy. Simply measure the window or the area you will be covering and times that by two to three times depending on how full you want your treatments to look. So for instance, if your window is 36 inches wide, you will need between 72 and 108 inches of fabric to cover it. The only time this measurement does not apply is when you are hanging pinch pleat curtains. Follow these guidelines and your curtains will look rich and full. However, if you skimp on the fabric, you will fail to establish the look that you are looking to achieve.
