Hi, I'm Chrisie Allemand, registered dietitian and founder of Nutrition Coach for Life. Today, I want to show you how to make slow cooker turkey chili with can stew tomatoes. Chili is an amazing comfort food and if done right you can afford all the pleasure with none of the high-calorie guilt. To make a slow cooker turkey chili with canned stewed tomatoes you will need one pound of extra lean ground turkey, one cup chicken stock, two can stewed tomatoes, one can kidney beans, one can black beans, two cup seasoning blend, two tablespoons chili powder, one teaspoon red pepper flakes, and half a tablespoon of garlic powder, and one teaspoon dried oregano. Begin by placing your seasoning blend and chicken stock in to a skillet over medium heat and cover. After five minutes, add the turkey to the skillet and cook until evenly brown. Then drain. Coat the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray and mix in the turkey, beans, tomatoes, chili powder, red flakes, garlic powder and oregano. Cover and cook for four hours on low. Then enjoy. And that is how you make slow cooker turkey chili with canned stewed tomatoes.
