Hi, my name is Paul Delagnes, cake designer of The Bread Basket Cake Company in Camarillo and I'm going to show you how to do a five petal decorating flower. You can use those on cakes. You can use them on cookies and anything that you want to kind of do them on. We're going to need some base icing for this. On this one I chose like a raspberry pink so that way the color stands out then you can see the flower better. We also are going to need a pastry bag with a tip. I'm using a round tip on this one because that way the flower looks more delicate and it's going to be like just a nice touch. We want to make like a daisy, that's kind of the flower that we are going to do on this one. So then we just get the icing in the bag, put it next to the bottom of the bag and you grab your surface. I recommend to try it in a flat surface first because that way you get your hand used to it and it's a lot easier. That way you don't get frustrated when you actually do it on the cake. So then you just put the icing. You start piping your flower. What you are going to do it's kind of like a pearl drape and then you're just going to drag it in so it gives you that flower effect and then you can do a nice round tip in the center and you are set. This is how you do a five petal flower icing.
