Hi, my name is Paul Delagnes, cake designer of the Bread Basket Cake Company in Camarillo. And I'm going to show you how to do tie dye icing. First of all, you're going to need your icing, you can do butter cream, I recommend as the best because all the icing you use like whipped cream, the color doesn't cut as well and it doesn't mix as well either. You're going to get your butter cream, you get your colors for the icing. You can choose any colors. For tie dye, brighter is the better because you can see them from far out. So this is going to use green, red, yellow and blue. So what you're going to do is just have your butter cream, mix it a little bit, make sure that it's nice and soft and then you're going to start adding the colors. The secret in this is you're going to have to do in a circle motion and then the colors are going to kind of overlayer in. That way whenever you put them in a bag they come out like a tie dye because if you mix it up after you put in the colors too much, the colors are going to disappear so it's going to be one solid color or combination of colors. So this is how you do tie dye icing.
