Hi. My name is Paul Delagnes, cake designer at the Bread Basket Cake Company in Camarillo, and I'm going to show you how to do a riding into the sunset theme cake. First of all, we're going to need the basic cake. So, we have a yellow, kind of like a fade out yellow, with a little bit of orange mix to it, so you get that feeling of the fadedness. We're going to use some orange food coloring and some red food coloring. With this one, it's going to be a little messy, so you either can use gloves or you can use your fingers, but, just remember, you're using food coloring so it's going to get attached into your skin. The reason why I'm saying this is because we're going to do the fadeout with your fingers. You can do it with a brush but it doesn't get that same effect, that way you can retouch it and you can see where you need to add a little bit more or a little bit less. We're also going to have some black fondant to create that depth that we're looking for on the sunset, so it gives you that shadows and it actually looks like its in the sunset. We're going to do some palm trees and some birds to go in like they're flying away. And, this is how we do a cake with a fading into the sunset theme.
