Hi, my name's Susan Combs, and today we're gonna talk about government health insurance for children. When it comes to children and government policies, there's different plans that you can take a look at. Ultimately, depending upon what your income is, if it's at a certain level or below, then the children are gonna be eligible for Medicaid. So this is usually for the indigent or if say a parent is severely disabled. There's also different programs, a lot of times you'll hear CHIP thrown around, which is child health insurance programs. With those policies, a lot of times there's state policies out there that will treat things a little bit differently. One thing that's changed for 2014 is with the Affordable Care Act a couple of the things that are now built into the health insurance policies are pediatric dental and pediatric vision. These have to be covered in every single policy out there. So, you know, when you're trying to decide on what's going to be the best plan for you, you know, the best thing is to go to the insurance department and see exactly what you're going to be eligible for depending upon the income that you're bringing in and the kids that are involved.
