Hi, I'm Rachel, and today we're going to be going over how to determine if a similar figure sides correspond. They correspond if they have the same angles and the sides are proportional. What does that mean? That means that if we have two triangles, let's say these are two right triangles and they are both 45 degree angles, 45, 45, 45 and 45. So that means that they both have the ratio of X, X and X root 2 for the sides. X is for the legs and X root 2 for the sides. Therefore, the sides are always going to correspond because they have proportionate ratios and equal angles. So you can measure the angles and measure the sides to see if they are proportionate. This could mean that the sides aren't equal, they're not congruent, right, this could be this triangle here could be 4, 4 and 4 root 2 and this triangle could be, you know, huge and it could be 30, 30 and 30 root 2 but these sides do correspond because as you can see, it's the same ratio and they are both 45, 45, 90 right triangles. They have the same angles. So therefore, the sides correspond, they're not congruent but they do correspond. I'm Rachel and thank you for learning with me today.
