Hi, this is Chris Burke, better known as Mr. Faux. Today I'm going to talk about how to color wash walls. Materials you'll need are painter's tape, paint color, faux finishing glazing liquid and two two-inch brushes. Now before you begin make sure you have an eggshell finish and tape off all the edges in the room you will be painting. This is to ensure that you will have clean and perfect lines. The first step is to mix the paint with glazing liquid. This will be two parts glaze to one part paint. Dip your brush into the mixture and then apply to the wall in X cross strokes. Next take your dry brush and repeat the X pattern removing paint and creating a washed look. Please be aware you will be working in three by three sections. The reason you will be working in a three by three section is because you don't want the glaze to dry on before you create your effect. Continue this process till the end of the wall. Pull the tape and there's your masterpiece. This is Chris Burke better known as Mr. Faux. And today I showed you how to color wash walls.
