Hi, I'm Matthew Pizzi. I'm going to show you how you can find the coordinates of points inside of a Photoshop document. If you need to place content in a specific location within your document, it's important to find that exact location. In this example, I'm going to show you two ways on how you can locate the exact coordinates of a point within an image. You will notice that there's a window in this tower and we want to find the center point of it. In the first example what we're going to do is use guides. To use guides, your rulers have to be visible. In order to make your rulers visible, you have to go to the view menu and under the view menu, you can choose rulers. Once you have rulers visible, you can simply drag out a guide vertically and horizontally. I'm going to come over to the left edge of the document and drag out a vertical guide. As you drag out this guide, take a look at the tool tip. The tool tip is giving you specific information. Once you place the guide, you'll notice that the tool tip reads 5.869 inches. We're going to do the exact same thing horizontally now. I'm going to go ahead and click and drag out a guide from the horizontal ruler. In this case, once I place it in the center of the window, you'll notice that the tool tip reads 4.669 inches. Using these guides, we are able to get the exact XY coordinate of the middle of the window within this image. Another way is to use the info panel. If you don't see the info panel, go to the window menu and under the window menu, you can choose info. With the info panel open, as you move your mouse around the image, notice that the XY coordinates update as you move the mouse also giving you the exact location of where your cursor is which is another way for you to find the coordinates of a point within a Photoshop document.
