Hi, I'm Charlie Kasov, and this is what is partial correlation in statistics. Now partial correlation is a method of figuring out if there's a relationship between two variables, x and y, using something called linear regression. Now the purpose of it is to figure out if there is actually a relationship between x and y, or if there's a masking variable, let's call it z, that's actually has the relationship with y or with x. So by using the linear regression and partial correlation, we can figure out if there is the relationship between x and y, or if it was actually a relationship between z and y or z and x, or if z was just making it seem like there was a relationship. So I'm Charlie Kasov, and that is partial correlation in statistics.
