Hi, my name is Chef Syd Marshal, and this is "how to make Chinese food with a steamer." Bamboo steamers are used in Asian cooking for gyoza and dumplings. The best thing is you can stack 'em on top of each other so you can steam several things at the same time. We're gonna start by doing some gyoza. We're gonna place our gyoza into our steamer that we have over a pot of boiling water. These will take just a few minutes to cook. Then, they can be served with a ponzu sauce. Another use is for steaming our sticky rice and palm leaf bundles. We'll start by laying out our palm leaf that we've lightly blanched to make them more pliable. We'll put a little sticky rice in the center with some cooked chicken. We'll fold over the edges to create a pocket. Then we'll lay it seam side down into our steamer and steam for about 10 minutes, and then it's ready to serve. And, there you have some Chinese recipes with a steamer.
