Hi. My name is Christina and this is "Breakfast Foods for Picky 15-Month-Olds." Starting at about a year, babies start to express their own desires and preferences and 15-month-olds can be picky eaters. At 15 months old, it's important to help your baby experiment with different food choices. There are lots of different flavors and food combinations you can try. If your baby consistently rejects certain foods, I like to try pretty basic things like lightly-sweetened, toasted oat cereal. This is something that's easy for them to feed themselves and it also tastes pretty mild and is healthy. Also, a great morning food are soft fruits. This isn't going to be very filling, but paired with something else, it can make a really enjoyable meal. And, generally, soft fruits are pretty sweet and it's hard for a baby to resist. One of my picky eaters favorite things to eat is French toast and pancakes. It's kind of difficult in a busy morning to make healthy pancakes, but healthy French toast is simple. Choosing a whole-grain bread and then syrup that isn't made out of high-fructose corn syrup, either real maple syrup or you can use lightly-thinned honey as the perfect syrup. The most important thing is to help them experience new foods. You can do this by not giving up, just keep trying new things and, eventually, they'll respond. Thanks for watching.
