Hi, I'm DeeDee Black, and today I'm going to show you how to do a side swept fishtail. The reason why you want to do a side swept fishtail is it's a simple style that looks really nice and fancy. The first thing you want to do is to comb your model's hair over to the side. Either side is your choice. Then you are going to secure the hair with a ponytail holder. Once the ponytail is secure, take a small section of hair and to wrap it around the ponytail holder. This you want to be careful because it depends on how thick their hair is. If your client's hair is like mine and it's not too thick and not too thin and it's pretty long, you can take a small section to wrap around but you just want to make sure you stay focused on the ponytail holder itself. If you take too much hair, it's going to be this thick and you don't want that. Then you are going to separate the hair into two sections. Once you do that you are going to take hair from the bottom of the left to go over the top right. Then you are going to take hair from the bottom of the right to go over the top left and you keep going from side to side until you get all the way to the end. Everything is repetitive. It looks difficult but it's very very simple. Once you get to the end you will secure it with a small rubber band. You can have one like this that is tan in color or you can do a clear rubber band, your choice. Once you are done and the rubber band is secure, you now have a side swept ponytail, simple yet fancy style.
