Hi, I'm Shannon Grossi, a software trainer, and I'm here to show you how to make a PowerPoint template. So I've got a PowerPoint presentation up that was created earlier, and because I'm gonna use it as a template, it has very generic information in it on my various slides, and it's something that I would like to reuse or perhaps a coworker would like to use it over and over again. So it's just a basic presentation, I'm gonna save it as a template by clicking file, save as, and at the save as type is where I will focus because in here I'll chose PowerPoint template, and that's the big trick here. I can change the name, or I'll leave it as this current name. Notice it's gonna save it in the Microsoft templates folder. I'm gonna leave it there, so I'll click save. Alright, and if I look up at the title bar I can see the extension is as a template. Alright, well I'm done with the templates, so I'm gonna close it, but I want it to also show you how to get back to that template. To open it up to use it over and over again, I'll click on file, new, and I have this spot right here where all my templates will go, and it's right in here, there it is, project status report, okay, and now when I loop up at the title bar, that's the presentation. So every time I open it and reuse it, it opens up a copy of the template. I'm Shannon Grossi, and that's how you make a Microsoft PowerPoint template.
