Hi, I'm Coleen Christian Burke, and I'm going to show you how to make Christmas hair accessories with plastic bottles. This is a great project to do with your daughter or a niece or a little girl at the holidays and she will love wearing this in her hair. You will need empty green plastic bottles, headbands, craft flowers, pom poms, pinking shears, and a hot glue gun. Take your empty bottle and cut off a section of the top. I have some that are pre-cut, and I chose a green plastic bottle because it's already in our Christmas color pallet. With your pinking shears cut the bottle in a downward direction as if you were making petals on a flower. When you get all the way around it will look like this. Take this shape and press the petals down. You can do this against your palm or the tabletop. Remember, it has been in the shape of a plastic bottle for awhile, so it might take a little bit of time. This will be the base of our hair accessory, which is going to be a Christmas flower. Then take a pom pom and glue it where the bottle cap would go. Begin making your Christmas flower by layering craft flowers with glue, finishing with another pom pom for the center. How cute is that? Finally, we take the finished flower and glue it onto our plastic headband. And here's our finished product.
