Hi, I'm Coleen Christian Burke and I'm going to show you how to make reindeer finger puppets. This is a kids craft that they'll enjoy helping you with or you can make the finger puppets for them to play with. You will need white, brown and green felt, scissors, a needle and thread, and supplies to decorate with. I'm also using small pompoms and googly eyes. I've chosen to make a snowman, a Christmas tree and a reindeer. First I drew a free hand form on a piece of poster board to trace the felt. These are easy shapes. Two circles for a snowman, a triangle for a Christmas tree and of course my reindeer is in the shape of a keyhole. The top being his head and the bottom being his body. The shapes need to be about the size of a finger so about two and a half inches or so. Trace the form on your fabric twice and cut it out. This way you have a front and a back for your puppet. Then take your needle and thread and do a running stitch around the entire shape except for the bottom of course. If you don't know the running stitch it's simply an in and out stitch that attaches the two pieces together. And now we get to decorate. Think a hat for your snowman, ornaments for your tree and a red pompom for your reindeer nose. To make your reindeer antlers, simply take a pipe cleaner and glue it to the back of your puppet. These are so cute your kids will have hours of fun long after the craft is over.
