Hi. I'm Michael Bremmer, and I'm here to talk today about who regulates the Internet. It's actually kind of a trick question because in theory nobody regulates the Internet and also everybody regulates the Internet. Let me explain what I mean. Here in America the Federal Communications Commission actually has the ultimate power over the Internet. However they regulate the companies that provide Internet, AT&T, Vorizon and so on and so forth. In turn at your local state the public utilities commission regulates that states Internet providers also. But we're all supposed to be good citizens of the Internet and use it in appropriate ways. So the other people that regulate the Internet are like the FBI, Homeland Security and the NSA. Of course they're looking for people who do bad things on the Internet so you probably don't have to worry about that.
