I'm Aaron Tucker and this is how to clip a bow tie. Bow ties that you aren't tying yourself should still resemble an actual bow tie. The days of the bow ties that came clipped to the collar of your suit that came with all four pieces together, pants, jacket, shirt and vest are out of the window. If you're not five years old, you should be wearing what looks the most similar to a real bow tie. So essentially for these types of bow ties it's more of a hooking on feature where you're going to take one end and clip it in to the tie. So you want to make sure that you measure the tie to your actual neck size so then this way you'll get it a little bit closer. Of course you can adjust after you clip your tie on. Put the tie around your neck, position it so the knot is in the center of your neck and just clip the back piece which is the hook in to the eye that's going to rest behind the knot of your bow tie. If need be, just use the little adjuster tab and adjust it so the bow tie fits properly and securely around your neck ensuring that it stays in one place.
