Hi, my name is Eylene Pirez and I'm an astrophysicist and this is how heavy is Neptune. So Neptune is the last planet in the solar system and it's considered a gas giant. Generally gas giants tend to be very, very massive. Especially compared to the terrestrial planets like Earth. So first let's talk about how massive is Earth and then we're going to find how massive is Neptune and compare the two. So the mass of Earth is six times ten to the 24th kilograms which seems quite heavy. Now exactly how heavy is Neptune? So here is Neptune and it's 102 times ten to the 24th kilograms. To find the relative factor between the Earth and Neptune we'll just divide the mass of Neptune and the mass of Earth and it's going to tell us how much heavier is Neptune than Earth. So 102 times ten to the 24th divided by six times ten to the 24th gives you 17. So Neptune is 17 times heavier than Earth. My name is Eylene Pirez and I'm an astrophysicist and this is how heavy is Neptune.
